Bryan Rust joined the Penguins on the ice for their morning skate Wednesday in advance of Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Final, this despite being knocked out of Game 1 by a head shot from the Sharks' Patrick Marleau.
After staying on the rink an extra 15 minutes and returning to his stall swarmed by cameras and microphones, Rust said he felt "a lot better" after the skate and replied "of course," when asked if he hoped to play:
Mike Sullivan called Rust "a game-time decision" and didn't elaborate other than to say, "Obviously, he skated."
Sidney Crosby, Kris Letang and Eric Fehr were the only players not participating in the optional skate. Phil Kessel, who usually stays off the ice in the mornings, participated.
