Mike Sullivan left no doubt the day after the Penguins' Game 5 loss in the Stanley Cup Final that he believes in his starting goaltender.

"I'm sure Matt will respond just fine," the coach said in the calmest conceivable tone of Matt Murray in a Friday conference call with reporters. Murray allowed three goals on the Sharks' first six shots in the 4-2 loss Thursday. "He's done it all year long. He's a real good goalie. One of the things we love about him is his demeanor. He has a calming influence on the group. He's done a terrific job in such a high-stakes environment."

Sullivan then referenced Murray's ability to bounce back, best exemplified by his 5-0 record after a loss, accompanied by a 1.76 goals-against average and .935 save percentage.

"I think that's the experience that's going to serve him well," the coach continued. "We have a lot of trust that he'll respond the right way."
