Nicasio’s night a familiar sight

NEW YORK — Bartolo Colon chugged around first and pulled up safely at second base, setting the tone for an inning that pitcher Juan Nicasio would like to forget.

Add in a third inning Curtis Granderson single — this coming after the leadoff man had already gotten to Nicasio to start the game, jacking a solo home run to right field — and the teeing-off was officially underway. But, the worst of the damage in that four-run third inning that proved to be the difference in the Pirates’ 6-4 loss to the Mets — their seventh loss in the past eight games, which has them back to .500— came from the familiar face of Neil Walker.

It was the former Pirate who returned to the Mets’ lineup after missing the last three games with lower back tightness to take Nicasio’s changeup for a ride over the wall. Walker went 2 for 4 with three RBIs, his fifth-inning double ending Nicasio’s evening:
