MILWAUKEE -- Sean Rodriguez has hit as many home runs this week as hit in all of 2015.

And it's not just quantity -- 18 for the season, four in the past five games -- that's standing out, as evidenced by this long and seriously loud solo blast that spanned 406 feet of Miller Park in seemingly a split-second Wednesday night:

That came in the fourth inning of the Pirates' 4-1 putdown of the Brewers, and it was accompanied by a wealth of humorous sidelights, not least of which were Jimmy Nelson's refusal to turn around and see which solar system had just welcomed the pitch he threw, or home plate umpire Jerry Layne stepping out from behind the catcher to more fully admire the view, or that fan who caught the ball while casually strolling down the steps of a section where no one should bother bringing a glove.

"Wow," Clint Hurdle offered on the shot, and that was it.
