MIAMI -- So this probably means it's time to run the ball, right?
Oh, wait. That time was Sunday afternoon.
Well, let's just say that, for all the doom and gloom certain to follow the word late Sunday night that Ben Roethlisberger needs knee surgery, and this in the aftermath of the Steelers' already Armaggedon-esque 30-15 dunking by the Dolphins at Hard Rock Stadium, perhaps the one microscopic positive that can be culled is that the franchise now will be forced to retreat to its roots.
Meaning getting its feet back on the ground.
I know, I know. It would take an atomic-force microscope. I get that. Beyond that, all this group needed was to get a few more bodies active and ... yeah, now we're watching Landry Jones and/or Zach Mettenberger trying to take down Bill Belichick and Tom Brady next weekend.
And who knows how many more weekends?
So look, I'm probably grasping as much as anyone else after all this. But bear with me on this deliberate detour because I think there might be something here.
