WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins forward Garrett Wilson admittedly eased into a game on March 31 against Springfield more than he would have liked.
It was Wilson’s first game back after recovering from a separated shoulder he suffered on Valentine’s Day, and he was still a little leery about how his body would hold up. But once he received a hit from his blind spot and skated away with no issues, he knew he would be just fine.
“(That hit) helped my confidence with it,” Wilson told DKPittsburghSports.com on Thursday. “Sunday (April 2), against Utica, I was playing a little more physical, a little more my style of game. It felt good the whole game, held up good, so I was really happy.”
A happy and healthy Wilson is great for the Penguins, who are once again hitting their stride heading into the final week of the regular season.
