RICHMOND, Va. -- I’ve been thinking about this game since I watched it live eight years ago, I jotted the details down in my sketchbook, actually, knowing I’d want to do something with it someday.
A hat trick on hat night is just so Sidney Crosby, isn’t it?
Despite being the greatest player in the world, his game is as much about being solid, responsible and dependable as it is about highlight-reel goals and savage snipes. Still, he has an undeniable flair for the dramatic and is one of the only guys you can imagine deciding to score a hat trick, knowing there are 18,000 baseball caps in the building, and then having the ability to go out and actually do it!
