RICHMOND, Va. — Hard as it is to believe, today marks only two years since most of us first heard the name Mike Sullivan.
If you’d asked me on the day he was hired about the Penguins' long-term prospects, I wouldn’t have painted a particularly rosy picture. I might’ve made some jokes about Jim Rutherford going to bed early, might even have begrudgingly admitted that perhaps it was indeed time to trade one of the superstar centers. Good lord, it’s amazing what can change in just 731 short days.
I am thankful every day that the people running my favorite hockey team are so much smarter than I am!
