PHILADELPHIA -- Tristan Jarry left the Penguins' 5-1 victory over the Flyers in the second period Tuesday night with an apparent cut to his right arm and did not return.
Jarry was hurt after a goal-mouth scramble with 7:06 remaining in the period, then was replaced by Matt Murray with 3:26 remaining. Murray was being benched after a poor outing Sunday in Detroit in which he gave up four goals on 27 shots.
Mike Sullivan had no update on Jarry -- or Brian Dumoulin and Carter Rowney -- after Tuesday's game. Dumoulin took a puck up high in the second period after playing just 10:18. Rowney left midway though the second, but it was not clear how he was injured. Sullivan said all were being evaluated and more would be known Wednesday.
The Penguins had been scheduled to practice Wednesday in Cranberry Township, so their next ice time -- and media availability -- will be at Thursday's morning skate at PPG Paints Arena in advance of that night's game against the Hurricanes.
Earlier Tuesday, Sullivan praised Jarry: “He’s played some really good games for us. I think it gives Matt an opportunity to spend some time with (goaltending coach Mike Buckley) and just reset his mindset, get back to some of the basics in his game that we think are important that help him be at his best. But certainly this is all just part of the process.”
Jarry made 17 saves on 18 shots Tuesday, and Murray stopped all 11 that he saw.
