Hey, be careful out there.
PennDOT District 11 and Heinz Field management have issued a travel advisory for all fans planning to attend Sunday’s Steelers vs. Jaguars AFC Divisional Playoff game:
• Motorists are advised that the “bathtub” area of the inbound Parkway East, the portion that runs through Downtown, is currently closed due to flooding. Plan on alternate routes in the event that this portion of the Parkway remains closed prior to game time. PennDOT is monitoring river levels and crews are staged to begin the process of pumping water and clean-up of the bathtub area when the river recedes. The posted detour takes motorists off at the Grant Street ramp.
• The Gateway Clipper shuttle service has been shut down for the day because of unsafe river conditions.
• The 10th Street Bypass and River Avenue also were closed, to either side of the flooding Allegheny River. This was as of late Saturday afternoon.
Fans attending the game, especially from the east of Pittsburgh, should allow extra time.
