RICHMOND, Va. — While watching last Tuesday night’s game at PPG Paints Arena, I thought to myself, “I’ve got my Cartoon Canon strip for the first week of February 2019!”
And then I thought, “Hell, why wait?"
I promise not to make a habit of illustrating moments that happened less than a week ago, but last Tuesday night was so special, so perfect, that I wanted to draw up it while the emotions were still fresh in my memory and before any of the magic wore off. I mean, imagine a night where Ryan Shazier stood in front of a crowd of Pittsburgh fans, and it wasn’t even the most emotional moment of the evening! Sometimes the hockey gods get every single detail correct, and all you can do is just bask in the gloriousness of it all.
