When the Steelers signed Morgan Burnett in free agency, many assumed the former Green Bay Packers star would be placed at strong safety, with Sean Davis moving to the free side.

Mike Tomlin said Monday that might not be the case.

The Steelers have an opening at free safety after releasing Mike Mitchell at the start of the free agent period, and Tomlin said Burnett will get first shot at replacing him.
