RICHMOND, Va. — The days of the Penguins holding an early pick in the NHL Draft seem a thing of the distant past.
Heck, they won’t make a selection until well into the second round this coming weekend, and will have to hope to find a player or two who can contribute in the NHL. It’s far from an impossible task, as our own Chris Bradford has described over the past week or so, but nobody available at No. 53 figures to have the impact of the first picks of 2003-2006.
Still, all things being equal, I’d rather my team make headlines in early June than late June!
