While Chris Archer was making his finest start with the Pirates on Wednesday night, the key player in the trade that brought the former All-Star pitcher to Pittsburgh was ready to make his debut with the Tampa Bay Rays.
The Rays announced on Wednesday that Austin Meadows was among their final September call-ups. He will make his American League debut on Thursday when the Rays take on the Blue Jays in Toronto.
