Skate Report: What’s wrong with Oleksiak?

NEWARK, N.J. -- So, what's wrong with Jamie Oleksiak that he's twice been deemed a healthy scratch this season, including a couple nights ago against the Coyotes?

The answer, apparently, is nothing.

At least that's how it sounded when Mike Sullivan was asked Tuesday morning at Prudential Center what it'll take for him to stick, as the game-day skate strongly suggested he'll be back in the lineup tonight against the Devils, while Juuso Riikola will be back out.

"I just think when Jamie is at his best, he keeps his game simple," the coach began. "He defends first. His decision-making with the puck is simple. He helps us get out of our end. He plays with an edge. He brings a physical dimension to our blue line. And when he does all of those things, I think his game is at its very best."
