The Ravens intend to stick with head coach John Harbaugh for 2019 and, likely, beyond.
According to a statement from the team's official Twitter account:
Harbaugh took over head coaching duties for the Ravens in 2008. In his 11 seasons at the helm, he's compiled a 102-70 record en route to six playoff appearances and one Super Bowl victory.
Currently, the Ravens sit at 8-6 and one half game behind the Steelers (8-5-1) in the AFC North.
Perhaps most important with this news is the implication it could have for rookie quarterback Lamar Jackson. The Ravens recently demoted longtime starter Joe Flacco in favor of Jackson, who has gone 4-1 since taking over the starting role.
With Harbaugh remaining the Ravens' head coach, Jackson will find himself with a familiar, stable mentor as he continues to develop as an NFL quarterback.
