Cartoon Canon: Brianne’s super sendoff!

RICHMOND, Va. --Pittsburgh seems like a perfect location for a National Women’s Hockey League franchise. This hockey-mad city has shown up in force for three NWHL neutral-site contests in Cranberry, including the league’s All-Star Game in 2016-17.

Until that day comes, however, we’ll have to be content with the memory of local U.S. Olympic hero Brianne McLaughlin’s dazzling performance with the Buffalo Beauts to win the NWHL’s Isobel Cup (named for the daughter of one Lord Stanley of Preston, ‘natch) over the favored Boston Pride in 2017. Hey, Buffalo isn’t that far, and it doesn’t matter if it's the NHL or little league ... beating any team from Boston is always fun!
