The Steelers signed two of their nine 2019 draft picks Tuesday, agreeing to terms on four-year deals with linebacker Sutton Smith and defensive tackle Isaiah Buggs
Financial terms were not disclosed.
Smith was the first of the team's three sixth-round draft picks. A defensive end at Northern Illinois, Smith was a two-time MAC Defensive Player of the Year, recording a combined 29 sacks the past two seasons.
The Steelers will convert Smith, the 175th pick in the draft, to outside linebacker.
Buggs was the Steelers' second pick in the sixth-round, the 192nd overall pick in the draft. He projects as a defensive tackle in the NFL but played tackle and end in Alabama's defense, recording 9.5 sacks and 13.5 tackles-for-loss for the Crimson Tide during his senior season.
