Trevor Williams will not make his start Saturday at 4:05 p.m. against the Brewers. Friday at PNC Park, Pirates officials announced Williams will be placed on paternity leave, and rookie Dario Agrazal will be recalled from Class AAA Indianapolis to start in his place.
A source close to the team said Williams will make an announcement on social media to further explain the situation.
Agrazal, 24, made the first two starts of his major-league career last month, going 1-0 with 2.70 ERA. He is 4-3 with a 4.25 ERA in 10 starts for Indianapolis after beginning the season by going 1-1 with a 3.60 ERA in four starts with Class AA Altoona.
Williams is 3-2 with a 4.54 ERA in 12 starts this year. He was on the injured list from May 17-June 18 with a strained right side.
