RICHMOND, Va. — Given the team’s recent struggles, it almost seems unfair to illustrate a moment in time when the Pirates actually took advantage of having the bases loaded with one of their most powerful hitters up to bat ... but happen it did, and it provided the first great moment in PNC Park history.
I’ll be making a trip to NYC this weekend, where I’ll be at Citi Field for Saturday night’s matchup with the Mets. Scrolling through my Ballpark app this morning, I came to the shocking realization that I’ve never seen the Bucs win a game as the visiting team. A couple of losses each in Chicago and Baltimore, and about a thousand in Washington add up to a grisly lifetime 0-12 record.
Hope this time’s the charm ... we could certainly all use it!
