Darryl Drake -- MATT SUNDAY / DKPS

LATROBE, Pa. -- The family of Steelers wide receivers coach Darryl Drake, who died suddenly Sunday morning at the team's training camp at Saint Vincent College, responded Monday to the outpouring of well wishers in a statement released by the team.

Drake, 62, had been with the Steelers since replacing longtime receivers coach Richard Mann at the end of the 2017 season, following Mann's retirement.

He had been a coach for 37 years, first at the college level, then with the Bears, Cardinals and finally the Steelers.

After learning of his death Sunday morning, the Steelers cancelled their practices yesterday and today to allow the players, coaches and family members time to come to grips with the situation.

Mike Tomlin will address the media at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday to discuss the situation and likely go over the team's plans moving forward without their receivers coach.

Drake is survived by his wife, Shelia, and their three daughters and several grandchildren.
