Pirates

Cartoon Canon: Bash night at Crosley! ☕

RICHMOND, Va. -- The 1966 Reds and Pirates weren’t yet the teams that would come to own the 1970’s ... but when they slugged out 11 homers one late summer night at Crosley Field in Cincinnati, a feat which had never been done before, you could certainly argue that it was a preview of things to come.

True, the teams’  singular hold on the record didn’t last long.

In fact, the Cubs and Mets combined to tie it less than a year later. It wasn’t until 1995 that the Tigers and White Sox combined to hit 12 in a 14-12 Chicago victory.
