Earlier this month, Steelers offensive linemen David DeCastro and Maurkice Pouncey pulled out of playing in this year's Pro Bowl, leaving the team with three players still in the NFL's all-star game.
Wednesday, they have a fourth.
Cornerback Joe Haden, an alternate, will now go in place of Ravens cornerback Marcus Peters, who pulled out of the game after Baltimore lost to the Titans in a Divisional Playoff game Saturday.
The Pro Bowl will be the third for Haden in his career. He also went in 2013 and 2014 while a member of the Browns.
Haden, 30, enjoyed one of his best seasons in 2019, breaking up 17 passes and intercepting five, which tied safety Minkah Fitzpatrick for the team lead and was tied for second overall in the NFL.
He'll join Fitzpatrick, linebacker T.J. Watt and defensive lineman Cam Heyward on the AFC roster.
The Steelers have not had a cornerback play in the Pro Bowl since Pro Football Hall of Fame member Rod Woodson did so in 1997, his final season with the team.
