The NFL finally announced its compensatory picks for the 2020 draft and the Steelers did, indeed, get an additional third-round pick.
The Steelers were awarded the 102nd, which is the 38th selection in the third round. Five teams got third-round picks ahead of the Steelers at the end of the third round, while four other third-round picks were awarded after the Steelers' pick.
The picks were expected to be announced prior to the start of the NFL Scouting Combine two weeks ago in Indianapolis, but the league held off while waiting for voting on the new CBA.
The additional pick is one the Steelers can certainly use.
The traded this year's first-round selection and a fifth-round pick -- along with sixth-rounder next year -- to the Dolphins in September to acquire safety Minkah Fitzpatrick, a fourth-round pick in 2020 and a seventh-round selection in 2021. Fitzpatrick earned first-team All-Pro and Pro Bowl honors in 2019.
That first-round pick wound up being the 18th selection, after the Steelers rebounded from an 0-2 start to finish 8-8.

Their third-round pick was sent to the Broncos as part of the deal to move up in the first round of last year's draft to get linebacker Devin Bush. They also dealt a fifth-round pick to the Seahawks to acquire tight end Nick Vannett.
That leaves the Steelers with a second-round pick, the 49th overall selection, the compensatory pick at the end of the third round, two fourth-round picks -- Miami's and their own -- and one pick each in the sixth and seventh rounds.
Bell signed a 4-year, $52.5-million deal with the Jets last spring after sitting out the 2018 season when the Steelers placed the franchise tag on him for the second consecutive season.
Bell rushed for 789 yards and three touchdowns and caught 66 passes for 461 yards and one touchdown in 15 games last season for the Jets.
