Yeah, Derek Watt is going to fit in just fine with the Steelers — and with the city of Pittsburgh.
Taking to Twitter, Watt posted a picture with his younger brother, new teammate T.J. Watt, expressing his excitement about joining the Steelers for the 2020 season and beyond.

You caught the end there, right? Oh yes. Watt is already appealing to Yinzer sensibilities, tagging in Primanti's for a shoutout and a request for sammitches.

Now, Derek can't be ordering turkey or tuna at Primanti's, but I'm sure he'll figure it out.
This interaction continues the overflow of good vibes and fun banter that's come from all three Watt brothers — Texans star J.J. Watt included — since the Steelers inked Derek to a three-year, $9.75 million contract at the opening of free agency. With his signing, the Steelers found an instant replacement for special teams standout Tyler Matakevich, who signed with the Bills on a two-year, $9 million contract, ending his time in Pittsburgh.
With Derek's arrival, the Steelers had to clear space, however, and that meant releasing Roosevelt Nix, who had spent his entire pro career, beginning in 2015, with the Steelers. Nix helped pave the way for Le'Veon Bell's most successful seasons as a pro and provided some special-teams expertise of his own, but he was often banged up, missing 13 of 16 games last season and rarely seeing the field.
The Steelers hope Derek, who has played in all 16 games each of his four seasons in the NFL with the Chargers, can change that.
