The 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games are going to be postponed, likely to 2021, according to USA Today Sports.
That report comes from an interview with International Olympic Committee member, Dick Pound. The details of when the games will be rescheduled will come over the next four weeks.
The ICO has not made an official announcement yet.
The postponement comes one day after Canada said they will not send any athletes to the games because of the risks associated with the coronavirus outbreak. Australia announced earlier Monday they would not compete either, and other countries, such as Great Brittan, were expected to do the same soon.
In February, Pound said the Tokyo Olympics could face cancellation if coronavirus wasn't under control by May, which seems highly unlikely.
According to the World Health Organization Monday, global cases have more than doubled over the last week to 350,000, and world wide deaths have more than tripled, to more than 15,000.
In America, the MLB, NHL and NBA are all shut down until further notice due to the pandemic.
President Donald Trump said Monday the United States was going to follow Japan's lead on if they should send athletes to the games or not.
This is the first time the Olympics have been postponed since 1944, when both the summer and winter games were cancelled due to World War II.
This was the third time Tokyo was slated to host the games, with the other times coming in 1940 and 1964. The 1940 games were cancelled, however, due to World War II.
The games were supposed to start July 24 and run through Aug. 9.
