Two of the Steelers' depth needs on defense of the 2020 NFL Draft were at safety and cover linebacker. Both groups had two solid starters returning from 2019, but missing an immediate replacement.
Enter Antoine Brooks Jr., safety from Maryland that was the team's sixth round pick.
His role on Maryland's defense floated from being an underneath coverage safety that floated in the box. He was drafted late because he needs development to be reliable in a full time role at either position, but to fit as an in between depth player might be how he helps the Steelers.
