Well, it's a new month, but the same old story: Still no hockey -- or much of anything else, in terms of live sports -- in the immediate future.
Still, NHL officials have floated the idea of opening at least some team training facilities during the second half of May, if the battle against the coronavirus pandemic continues to progress on the course they expect.
What do you make of that? Too much, too soon, or should the league get games going as soon as possible? Would you pay much attention to hockey in warm-weather months if, as seems logical to assume, sports like baseball and football also would be operating then? What practical hurdles do you think would have to be cleared for games to be contested, even if it happens in empty arenas?
In addition to all the aspects associated with a possible first step toward the NHL getting back into operation, there are plenty of other hockey-related issues to discuss, and this is the place to do it.
Post questions and observations about any of the above matters -- or anything else pertaining to hockey -- at your convenience, and I'll respond over the course of the day.
