Live Qs at 5: Molinari’s answers on the Penguins

Jim Rutherford told our site this week that he is "more optimistic" now than he was a few weeks ago that the 2019-20 NHL season, on hold since March 12, will be resumed at some point this spring or summer.

That sentiment seems to be catching on in hockey circles, although it hardly is universal.

The return of hockey -- or any other team sport -- will hinge on receiving clearance from medical and political officials, of course, and any games that are played almost certainly will be different from anything we've seen, with the absence of fans due to social-distancing guidelines, probably the best example of that.

But while the pluses and minuses of hockey coming back in the reasonably near future is the dominant issue surrounding the game these days, there are plenty of other hockey-related issues to discuss, and this is the place to do it.

Post questions and observations about any of the above matters -- or anything else pertaining to hockey -- at your convenience, and I'll respond over the course of the day.

Please don’t use this the way you would an ordinary commenting thread, and please scroll through the questions already submitted to make sure your question hasn't been asked.
