DAVID MOREHOUSE. -- PITTSBURGH PENGUINS

David Morehouse has a wide range of duties in his role as president and CEO of the Penguins.

He added an unexpected one to the list Saturday: Rescuer.

Morehouse, watching the civil unrest outside of PPG Paints Arena from near the Highmark gate along Centre Avenue, intervened when he said KDKA-TV videographer Ian Smith being beaten by one or more assailants.

He pulled Smith, who subsequently was taken to UPMC Mercy for treatment of his injuries, to safety inside the arena.

A team official confirmed Morehouse's role in the incident, but declined further comment and said that Morehouse does not plan to publicly discuss it.
