Pitt’s Twyman named Walter Camp Preseason All-American

The honors are beginning to roll in for Pitt defensive tackle Jaylen Twyman.

An All-ACC and second-team All-American performer last season, Twyman on Thursday was named to the 2020 Walter Camp Preseason All-America first team.

Twyman finished last season with 41 tackles, 12 tackles for loss and 10.5 sacks in becoming the first defensive tackle to lead Pitt in sacks since Aaron Donald in 2013. His played helped the Panthers average 3.92 sacks, tops in the nation with SMU.

Other players on the first team include Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence and running back Travis Etienne, Miami defensive lineman Gregory Rousseau, Florida State defensive lineman Marvin Wilson and Penn State linebacker Micah Parsons.

Penn State tight end Pat Freiermuth is a second-team choice along with three defensive linemen from the ACC: Duke's Chris Rumph II, Wake Forest's Carlos Basham and Miami's Quincy Roche.
