In the past year, Antonio Brown has had more potential destinations than an airline stewardess.
The latest rumor? It has Brown signing with the Texans.
This rumor might have some legs to it, perhaps more so than the ones from earlier in the week that had Brown signing with the Seahawks simply because he posted video of himself running routes with Russell Wilson.
Why is this one a little more believable?
First, there's this from Brown's mentor, Chad Ochocinco.
Second, the Texans are in need of a No. 1 receiver after head coach Bill O'Brien, the team's GM as well, essentially gave star receiver DeAndre Hopkins away prior to the draft to the Cardinals. Of course, O'Brien did that because he reportedly didn't like Hopkins' attitude at times.
How O'Brien would handle Brown's infamous attitude would be a trick if he was unable to deal with Hopkins.
Of course, Brown also has been rumored to be close to signing with the Ravens, Buccaneers and the aforementioned Seahawks -- just in the past few weeks. Whether it happens or not remains to be seen.
And then there is still the potential suspension or other punishment Brown could receive from the NFL after pleading no contests to charges of assaulting a moving van driver outside his home earlier this year. Brown received two years probation in the case.
He also was accused by a former employee of sexual misconduct, charges the NFL investigated thoroughly.
Brown was traded by the Steelers in 2019 after skipping out on the team's final game in 2018 because he felt he was being mistreated by quarterback Ben Roethlisberger and the franchise. The Steelers sent him to the Raiders for third and fifth round draft picks. But Brown never played a game for the Raiders after getting into a heated argument with GM Mike Mayock among other assorted behavioral issues and demanding his release.
He was then signed by the Patriots, appearing in one game for New England before the sexual misconduct allegations led to his release there.
The Steelers play the Texans at Heinz Field Sept. 27.
