Robin Lehner has supplanted Marc-Andre Fleury as the Golden Knights' starting goaltender in these playoffs.
Fleury's agent Allan Walsh created a bit of drama on Twitter on Saturday night when he tweeted an edited image seemingly implying that the change in goaltending was Vegas coach Pete DeBoer stabbing Fleury in the back:
Fleury has started just two games this postseason -- One of the Golden Knights' three round robin games in the first phase of the playoffs, then Game 3 against the Blackhawks in the first round.
As the Golden Knights prepare to play the Canucks in the second round, it doesn't seem like DeBoer will make a change in goaltender any time soon.
Elliotte Friedman reported on Saturday that the team met with Fleury after Walsh's tweet:
Fleury addressed the media on Sunday morning, and said that he asked Walsh to remove the tweet.
"I’m here to win with my team and have success. That’s what matters," Fleury said. "We all want to win, that's why we're here. I really like Robin. We have a good friendship and I think he's a really good goalie also. There are no hard feelings."
Lehner was acquired from the Blackhawks in February and is set to become an unrestricted free agent this summer, while Fleury has two years remaining on a contract that carries a $7 million cap hit and has a modified no-trade clause that allows him to submit a 10-team no trade list.
