Most years, we'd be just a week away from the start of the annual prospects tournament in Buffalo, with the full training camp opening a week after that.
But as the world realized months ago, 2020 is not most years, and there's nothing normal about the schedule on which the hockey world is operating these days.
The Penguins are just a few weeks into a lengthy offseason, with no guarantee the NHL's optimistic plans to start the 2020-21 season in early December will work out.
Still, the Penguins have made more than a little news since Montreal abruptly ended their season earlier this month, with the recent assistant-coach firings and this week's acquisition of acquisition of Kasperi Kapanen.
This is the place to discuss all that has gone on so far, and all that might happen in the weeks and months to come.
