Readers have long asked us about offering DK Pittsburgh Sports merchandise and, once we finally did so over the past week, it proved to be quite a hit with $4,538.93 in total sales!
We did not see that coming! Thank you!
The first wave of sales closed out late Saturday night, so we'll take that bulk order and get that shipment out through the manufacturer right away. My understanding is it'll still takes a couple weeks to get to you, and I'll have an update with more specific information in this space next weekend.
So, what's next on this front?
Well, we haven't figured that out, focusing our effort on this first wave. But the second wave figures to have a different version of the unique shirt that was, in this case, aimed at our Original Lunatics from 2014. A few readers have suggested a Lifetime version, and I kind of like that. Others brought up caps, coffee mugs and maybe even trying a lower-cost version of the T-shirt, so we can look into that, too. (The tees in this wave are of terrific quality, maybe more than what was needed.)
They'll all wind up in the new DK Shop.
The opening wave of stuff, if you've missed it, offers several different T-shirt designs, two different hoodie designs and a mask, all of them artistically crafted by She Who Does Everything Else Too, meaning, of course, my wife Dali Kovacevic:
