It might not even be a conscious effort.
But the Penguins' suddenly prolific power play, as easily evident with the eyes as through the statistics, has undeniably been rooted in one simple facet: Their forwards are collapsing at the sides of the opponents' crease in a manner we haven't seen since ... honestly, I can't recall.
And no, believe it or not, this isn't at all about Patric Hornqvist. He's always been there. Heck, he was probably born there.
"It's everyone now, not just 72," Kris Letang was telling me Tuesday after practice at the Lemieux Sports Complex. "I look up, I see so many of our guys, and all I'm thinking about is getting the puck there somehow."
