Traffic Downtown just got a little lighter on the afternoon of Jan. 14, or at least that’s the hope.

The Penguins announced that their Jan. 14 game against the Rangers at PPG Paints Arena will be shifted to a 7:30 p.m. start, which should make Pittsburgh sports fans happy since the Steelers’ AFC divisional round game is slated to kick at 1:05 p.m. at Heinz Field.

The Penguins were originally scheduled for a 12:30 p.m. start and the game will be shown on NBC Sports Network. The Steelers, meanwhile, will be doing plenty of scoreboard watching this weekend as they wait to learn their opponent for the divisional-round game, one that will either feature them playing the Chiefs, Jaguars or Titans.

Per NHL.com, the Detroit Red Wings and Chicago Blackhawks will now play at 12:30 p.m. on NBC to accommodate the Penguins’ time change.
