Steelers offensive line coach Mike Munchak has officially withdrawn his name from the Cardinals' head coaching search and will remain in Pittsburgh.
Munchak, who has been with the Steelers since 2014 after he was fired as head coach of the Tennessee Titans, had been contacted by the Cardinals about a second interview as the team attempts to replace Bruce Arians. Munchak had first interviewed with the Cardinals two weeks ago.
"I made my decision to withdraw my name from the Arizona Cardinals' head coaching search as they continue through their interview process," Munchak said in a statement released by the Steelers. "The timing for my family was not appropriate for me to pursue this potential opportunity, but I am excited with the decision to remain with the Pittsburgh Steelers."
Munchak, a Pro Football Hall of Fame guard with the Houston Oilers, has been lauded by Steelers players as being instrumental in their success and has helped guard David DeCastro, center Maurkice Pouncey and left tackle Alejandro Villanueva achieve Pro Bowl status.
