RICHMOND, Va. — I’ll be honest: The Penguins in blue and white predates my fandom by a good bit.
As far as I’m concerned, Pittsburgh has always exclusively been a black and gold town. It’s an attribute that makes our city special. True, it’s been fun in recent years to see our teams occasionally try to expand the colors in the wardrobe a bit, but the results have certainly been mixed … it seems like for every snazzy Winter Classic throwback, there’s a red vest stinking up the joint.
So stick with what works. And around here, it’s good old black and gold.
