The Steelers signed the first member of their 2018 draft class, getting fifth-round draft pick Jaylen Samuels on the books for a four-year deal.
Samuels, a running back, was the second of Pittsburgh's two fifth-round picks after a stellar career at North Carolina State. He set a school record for receptions (202) and finished second in NC State history with 47 total touchdowns.
Samuels and the team's other draft picks will take the field for the first time with the team Friday when the Steelers open their three-day rookie mini-camp, which serves as a de facto orientation prior to the team opening the on-field portion of its OTAs next week.
