Steelers sign rookies Allen, Frazier to deals

A day after signing the first of their two fifth-round draft picks, running back Jaylen Samuels, on Wednesday, the Steelers signed the other on Thursday, agreeing to a four-year deal with former Penn State safety Marcus Allen. They also agreed to a contract with seventh-round pick Joshua Frazier.

Allen, who was selected with the 148th pick in the draft, was the sixth player in Penn State history to accumulate more than 300 tackles in his career. He ranks fifth in the program's history with 321 stops.

Frazier, a former defensive tackle at Alabama, was taken with the 246th pick in the draft. He played for new Steelers defensive line coach Karl Dunbar, appearing in 40 career games, making 28 tackles, two sacks and defending three passes.

The Steelers open their three-day rookie mini-camp Friday. They have four remaining unsigned draft picks, including first-round selection Terrell Edmunds. All of the team's draft picks are expected to attend the mini-camp.
