RICHMOND, Va. -- I’ve been on Facebook for over a decade, for better or worse, and most days I click that link that shows you “Memories on this Day”, which lists everything you’ve ever posted on that date. If the memory is from the latter half of 2012, you can be almost positive of one thing: I was complaining about the lockout and the NHL in general.
Boy, was I angry!
And yet, once the games came back, there I was, watching as if nothing had happened. It’s hard to stick to and resolutions of abstinence when you follow a team with two generational talents on it. Before long, the anger melted away. Heck, league-wide, attendance actually ticked up for the season! The NHL had us all along, and they knew it.
As our esteemed leader is fond of -- and absolutely correct -- in saying, “Best team, worst league."
