All of us, including our business partners and our readers, have always done right by those who serve in teaming up to take care of all military subscriptions.
Now, we're proudly doing likewise for those serving on our new front line.
Effective immediately, with immense thanks to one incredibly generous reader in South Carolina, we're offering free full-year subscriptions to anyone who's contributing toward the fight against the coronavirus pandemic.
Including:
• Medical personnel
• Pharmacists
• All first responders, including police
• Grocery workers
• Restaurant workers
• Sanitation workers
• Truck/delivery/mail
• Hotel/airline/transit
• Researchers/clinicians
• Teachers
If you're any of the above, please apply right here with this simple form. There's no catch. No credit card. No commitment. We're just hoping to give back the only thing we can give back in this crazy time, and we've already heard from so many in the above industries -- existing subscribers -- who've let us know how much they appreciate taking a breather and catching up on our stuff. It's literally the least we can do.
Credit for this goes to Michael H., the aforementioned reader in South Carolina. He reached out and offered to cover all our costs in processing these subscriptions, no matter how many get given out. And he didn't even wish to give his last name because he didn't want anything personal from it.
That said, I have coerced him into writing up a little something for you:

Hey all,
First of all, let me say how absolutely blown away I am by the response to the coronavirus front-line subscriptions. I am very seldom left speechless but both the reaction of fellow Lunatics, and the extraordinary response by new members has left me exactly that. I found myself wiping tears from my eyes Monday night hearing the response from DK. I have been trying to explain to DK that one of the reasons I decided to do this, is because the platform he and the team have built, has truly in my eyes, morphed into a family. We’ve got people from all walks of life; rich, poor, young, old, male, female and anything in between. Sure, we have our differences, but the love of our city and our teams ( and the staff’s incredible work), brings us all together. And tell me that, in this Looney-Toon, zombie-apocalypse time we’re living in, that’s not exactly what we need.
I know a lot of you are curious as to who I am; and while the stick-taps and up-cups are greatly appreciated, it's just not who I am. I'm not doing this for any kind of notoriety or personal/professional gain. I’m doing this because we all need a reminder of the good that still exists in the world, even though we’re all going through our own tough times.
Now on to my request of you: As you all know, DK has been an ardent supporter of our military. This year, in conjunction with Moon Golf Club, the site is trying to reach 1,500 military gift subscriptions. All I ask of any of you who are in a position to help is to pay it forward. If you can buy a single military gift sub, or if you have the ability to purchase a block of them, believe me when I tell you it won’t go unnoticed by those who take advantage of them. Take it from me -- eight years in the U.S. Marine Corps -- it's hard enough being away from Pittsburgh under any circumstance, and it's even harder in some of the places our heroes are currently. I hope you all can find it in you to contribute to this worthwhile cause.
I’d like to extend my own welcome and gratitude to all our newcomers. Come enjoy the content, distract yourself from the craziness, and make yourselves at home. I’ll still be lurking in the comments section, and maybe next time some of y’all come to Charlotte for a Steelers-Panthers game, we’ll run into each other at a subscriber meetup.
In the meantime: Stay strong, stay positive, and stay safe.
Here we go!
Michael H.
