It is that time of year when players who received tenders have to decide what course of action they will take. Some like to wait, and hope for a long term contract. While others want the deal to be done and sign the tender to move on.
The Steelers have two players who received restricted free agent tenders, Mike Hilton and Matt Feiler, and both have now signed them.
Both players signing their tender offers means they'll be locked in at $3.259 million guaranteed in 2020.
Feiler has been the Steelers' starting right tackle the past two seasons. With the retirement of Ramon Foster, he could be moved to left guard this season to allow Chuks Okorafor and Zach Banner to battle for the right tackle spot. Or, he could simply stay at right tackle and allow free agent signing Stefen Wisniewski to play left guard.
Hilton has been the Steelers' starting nickel corner the past three seasons.
Both he and Feiler were undrafted players, signing with their practice squad after initially signing with other teams. Feiler originally signed with the Texans and spent time on their practice squad in 2014 before being released.
Hilton was initially signed by the Jaguars and also spent time with the Patriots before joining the Steelers' practice squad at the end of the 2016 season.
UPDATE:
The Steelers have made Hilton and Feiler signings official.
