ALEX STUMPF, born and raised in Pittsburgh, covers the Pirates and Major League Baseball for DK Pittsburgh Sports.

Background: Alex graduated from Point Park University in 2014 with a degree in Journalism and Mass Communications and a minor in English. He has previously covered the Pirates for Bucs Dugout, Pittsburgh Sports Report and The Point of Pittsburgh, and has written nationally for FanGraphs and The Sporting News. He is the nerdier half of The River Blast Podcast.

Personal: Alex currently resides in Baldwin. His hobbies include watching movies with his cat, Mason, tasting new whiskies and trying to play through his rapidly expanding backlog of Nintendo Switch games. He'll get around to writing the great American screenplay one day, but he has more important things to do now, like rewatching this episode of Futurama for the 20th time.
