Chris Bradford

CHRIS BRADFORD, born in Nashville and raised in suburban Philadelphia, covers the Penguins and the National Hockey League for DKPittsburghSports.com

Career: Chris graduated from California University of Pennsylvania with a degree in communications with an emphasis in journalism. At California, Chris wrote for the school paper while freelancing for the Uniontown Herald-Standard. After graduation, Chris worked for the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review and then the Valley News Dispatch before settling down full-time with The Beaver County Times in 1998. At Beaver, Chris served several roles, including covering the rise of Sidney Crosby and the Penguins in the mid-2000s, and then as the Steelers beat writer from 2013-17.

Personal: Only a remarkable lack of size, speed and discernible skills kept Bradford out of the pros. Instead, he writes about them for a living. But you can still find him chasing the dream, mucking and grinding in area beer leagues. He also serves as a certified USA Hockey official and is the coach of his daughter’s “undefeated”  T-ball team. Chris resides in Hopewell Township with his wife Audra and daughter Madison.
