Dave Molinari

DAVE MOLINARI grew up in the McKeesport suburbs of Glassport and Elizabeth Township and covers the Penguins and NHL for DK Pittsburgh Sports.

Career: Molinari got his start as a part-time employee in the Sports department at the McKeesport Daily News, mostly answering phones and compiling scoring summaries for various high-school competitions, then accepted a full-time position at that paper covering local police departments, municipal bodies and school boards. He joined The Pittsburgh Press as a copy editor in 1980 and, in the summer of 1983, began to cover the Penguins and NHL for it. When the Press folded at the end of 1992, he moved to the Penguins/NHL beat at the Post-Gazette and remained in that role until 2017, at which point his primary responsibility became covering Penn State football.

Personal: Molinari is married and lives in the South Hills. He is a graduate of Elizabeth Forward High School, has a Journalism degree from Penn State and is the father of three adult children.
