Le'Veon Bell and former Steelers safety Ryan Clark got into a heated Twitter exchange Monday. This comes after Clark, now an analyst for ESPN, called Antonio Brown "selfish":
“Antonio has done an extremely good job of tricking people," Clark said on ESPN Radio last Wednesday. "He’s done a very good spin job of having us think, or making people think who don’t know him, that it’s all about the Pittsburgh Steelers. Just a hard worker who’s here to win football games. No, Antonio Brown loves Antonio Brown. If you listen to people talk about him, if you listen to the media, a lot of time the fans, they have an adoration for him that is not necessarily a depiction of who he is. He’s like most receivers. He’s selfish.”
Bell took exception to Clark's remarks, and called Clark out on Twitter. Clark fired back at Bell, mentioning his rap career and lack of Super Bowl rings, among other things:
Bell took offense to the idea that he shouldn't care when Clark makes comments about one of his teammates:
Bell accused Clark of attacking Brown for the publicity:
Clark suggested that Bell was the one going after publicity:
Clark reminded Bell of his dedication to the Steelers, referencing his sickle cell trait which made it risky to play at high altitudes. His condition caused him to need his spleen and gall bladder removed in 2007:
Bell looked to Ike Taylor, now an analyst for the NFL Network, for support:
Ike then basically just told them all to shut it:
Bell didn't respond to any of Clark's tweets, so Clark ended the exchange:
Clark then finally took Ike Taylor's advice:
I look forward to the usual "who cares," "just play football," and "sick of the drama" remarks in the comment section.
