Zach Aston-Reese's first hat trick of his professional career was one of the few bright spots in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton's 8-5 loss to the Bridgeport Sound Tigers on Sunday evening.

Aston-Reese scored the Penguins' first goal after banging in Ethan Prow's rebound in the first period:

Aston-Reese's second goal came on the power play midway through the third period:

He completed the hat trick in the final minute of the game, a shorthanded tally:

Aston-Reese also recorded the primary assist on a Garrett Wilson goal in the third period, and led the team in shots with seven. Sunday's game brings Aston-Reese's season totals to six goals and three assists in 11 games, and he is tied with Wilson for the team-lead in goals.

As Dejan Kovacevic reported in this week's Friday Insider, management's plan all along was to leave Aston-Reese in Wilkes-Barre for about 15 games and bring him back up to Pittsburgh, as long as he performed well in his return from his injury.
