Penguins recall Wilson from Wilkes-Barre

The Penguins have recalled Garrett Wilson from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, it was announced Saturday.

Wilson's recall comes after the Penguins lost Patric Hornqvist to injury in Friday night's 2-1 overtime loss in Boston. Hornqvist absorbed this hit from Kevan Miller in the second period and did not return to the game:

Wilson's recall surely means that Hornqvist's status is in doubt. Mike Sullivan is expected to provide an update on Hornqvist's status ahead of Saturday's matchup with Columbus at PPG Paints Arena.

Wilson was previously re-assigned to Wilkes-Barre on Nov. 17 following four games with Pittsburgh, his first NHL games since the 2015-16 season.

Wilson only played one game in Wilkes-Barre since returning, a 4-3 overtime loss on Friday night, during which he was held scoreless. Springfield's game-winning power play goal came after a failed clearing attempt from Wilson:
